In honor of International Women's Day, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share my absolute favorite woman-founded workout with you.
Pvolve is a low-impact, clinically-backed movement using specialized equipment that provides incredible results. The workouts are developed by a team of (actual!) doctors, healthcare experts, and highly accredited trainers. The movement focuses on functionality while building strength and mobility. There are literal medical studies that have proven results on the health benefits of Pvolve.
There are a couple of different options for accessing Pvolve. If you're lucky enough to live in a city where they have an in-person studio - go, go, go! The instructors are all incredible, they offer thorough explanations of movements, offer hands-on adjustments, and keep class at a pace comfortable enough to keep you sweating while not overwhelming. They offer a few different types of classes, including their signature Strength & Sculpt, weight-focused classes (Progressive Weight Training), cardio-focused classes (Sculpt & Burn), and others. Plus, they use the expensive products in the locker room to freshen up after class and have a cute little shopping section for equipment, workout gear, and supplements.
If you're not in a city with an in-person studio, their online courses are equally fantastic. I have done both and find that I am able to work up as much of a sweat at home as I do when physically in class. There are a variety of classes available to suit your personal needs and enough courses that need minimal equipment, so you don't feel like you need to break the bank to get started. However, I will say, that if you're like me, you'll be obsessed and buy the whole equipment bundle to use at home. Also worth noting, is the online platform has a ton of great, short stretching classes for rest days or post-workout.
During the workout, you're not doing a lot of the typical exercises you might expect - looking at you, push-ups, and crunches. Instead, you follow a series of thoughtful, challenging movements aimed at building strength and improving mobility. The classes are all incredibly approachable and achievable, but you get a serious workout and will be feeling it the next day.
